Concept Store - Stevenage
In August 2017 we opened our first concept store in Stevenage. Myself and the creative team were given a brief to develop an environment that was both easy for the customer to understand and engage with, but also provided flexibility at store level. The project from original concept drawings and presentations to opening was turned around in 9 months. I worked on launching Womenswear, from product ranging to floor layouts, styling and merchandising. This was an amazing opportunity that I was so grateful to be a part of. Retail Week announced their top 25 new stores in the UK ranked by design, our Stevenage store ranked at number 20.
Retail Week reports: “This may not be one of chief executive Sergio Bucher’s ‘stores of the future’, but it does feel a considerable distance from a standard Debenhams. With two floors and a central atrium that features coloured neon tube sculptures, this is an engaging environment that hints at luxury and gifting, without being flash. Designed in-house, the store does provide a sense of future direction as far as the department store group is concerned. It also successfully melds leisure with retailing.”
